This month celebrates author/poet Shel Silversteins’s birthday! I remember reading Where the Sidewalk Ends many many times as a kid. My favorite poems were Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout Would Not Take the Garbage Out and Peanut Butter Sandwich. Shel Silverstein made reading fun! So I invite you to remember your childhood (if you’re may age) or discover the magic of Where the Sidewalk Ends for the first time.
Invitation
by Shel Silverstein
If you are a dreamer, come in,
If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar,
A hope-er, a pray-er, a magic bean buy-er…
If you’re a pretender, come sit by my fire
For we have some flax-golden tales to spin.
Come in.
Come in.
