The holiday season is upon us. November flew by in a cloud of blur as I’m sure December will as well as it usually does for me and my fellow teachers. It’s the time of year when our kids begin to feel restless. They have been in school since mid August and so “holiday fever” comes two weeks early now. Instead of hitting the beginning of December they begin to lose their minds right around Thanksgiving. Ugh! My class began their journey to the dark side a week before Thanksgiving. I almost didn’t make it out alive. Fortunately, my kids love rocks ( they’re 4 and easily entertained what can I say) and so I asked them if they wanted to learn about the most special and famous rock around. Their little eyes lit up. A special rock? You betcha! So we spent 2 weeks learning all about Plymouth Rock. We even made our very own Plymouth Rock to have in the class. Do they think they are dealing with some kind of amateur here? Come on.
Happy Thanksgiving! Hope yours rocked!!!
