The Winter blues is real people. For teachers it is the time between Christmas and Spring break.
In L.A., we do not have the luxury of “winter break” in February so it is a long haul between Dec and March/April. It is the slowest time of year. The days become longer, the lessons become a little less exciting and let’s just say there is a lot of chocolate consumption happening. Don’t judge. It’s called survival.
February is full of exciting events like Valentines day, maybe Grandfriends day and a little 3 day weekend because of Abe Lincoln and George Washington, God bless ’em! It is around this time that we get a little antsy. It’s around this time that the “good” kids go to the dark side. There is a dynamic switch in the classroom. Heaven help us. The countdown to Spring Break begins. How many more weeks of this?
I can do this. I got this. Five more weeks. Easter comes late this year. Darn that Bunny!
