Picture this!

Happy National Children’s Picture Book Day! Yay! Any day that recognizes the importance of books, especially for early readers is a great day! Children’s books are so important to a child’s growing mind and heart.

As I work on the next book in the Bea Bee series, it’s important to me to make sure that it’s not only educational but also meaningful and relatable. For children, the visual component is so important and helps a child understand the message and story being told. Putting together a picture book is not easy. Just ask my illustrator, she’ll tell you! The pictures are just as important as the words, as the pictures enhance the readers experience. The pictures make the story come alive. Every character, backdrop and minor details all reflect the unfolding story. Today, I celebrate children’s picture book authors and illustrators everywhere! Thank you for helping shape the lives of littles around the world!
