Ten. That is the number of journals I have at the moment not counting the one or two I keep in my classroom. Is that a lot? I’m assuming most people have one maybe two they keep near, but 10? I can’t help myself. I love journals! I love the little inspirational quotes some have on them, I love the design on others and my absolute favorite journal at present is a brown leather bound journal with a strap to tie around it. Very Jane Austen. I think the trick is not keeping them all in the same place. I keep two by my bedside, a few in the living room, one in my everyday tote and a few more in the kitchen (otherwise known as my “office”). I mean, you never know when you will be inspired or, if anything else, need to write a list of some sort.
I can tell you that every journal I have has been written in, yet not completely full. I have some journals that are for story ideas and writing, another for goals and dreams and others for random thoughts, book and movie quotes. Whatever my fancy. I am pretty sure I am a journal addict. I can not walk into a shop be it Target, local book shop, Marshalls or wherever and not peruse the journal isle. Just a look see, mind you. There might be just the right journal for my current mood or goal. The inspirational quote on the front cover might strike a cord or the lovely color or pattern might strike my fancy. The possibilities are endless!
Thinking about it, do I really need all these journals? Shouldn’t I finish one before I get a new one? Hmmm, maybe I should journal about it.
Note to self: remind me to get a new journal for summer vacation!
